Controversial lawyer, Maurice Ampaw has said having a sexual intercourse with a married woman is not a crime in the laws of the Ghana.

According to him, there are no such laws in the country’s constitution therefore if a person found culpable of such act, the only punishment will come from the customary law level.

Lawyer Ampaw comment comes after the head pastor of the Apostolic Good News Church International, Apostle Douglas Akwesi Amanor was caught sleeping with a married woman who is also a church member, Mrs. Mina Adjei.ghanapoliticsonline.com

The heartbreaking spectacle was unfortunately witnessed by no other person than the husband of the woman right on his matrimonial bed at their EMEFS Estate residence at Lashibi, a suburb of Accra.

Narrating to The New Crusading GUIDE what had befallen him, Mr. Thomas Adjei, Managing Director of an advertising company in Osu, Accra said, he was so “sad and dumbfounded, upon seeing another man in bed with my own wife. I thought it only happened in movies”.

The husband of Mina has since reported the case to the Vivian farms police station at Lashiebi which has seen the DOVVSU department taken over the case. Conceding that it is dangerous to sleep with a married woman, lawyer Ampaw said the culprit if caught cannot be prosecuted.

He also added that, since the married woman gave consent for the sexual act, the only option left for her husband is to seek redress through customary means.
