No PNC, No December 7 – Dr. Mahama

The Presidential aspirant for the Peoples National convention (PNC) Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama says the December polls will not come off unless the PNC is back into the race.

Dr. Edward Mahama took to his Facebook wall Tuesday 11th October to register his displeasure in the disqualification of his party from contesting in the December polls.

The post reads:

“I ask all supporters and sympathizers of PNC to remain calm. The 2016 election is not happening without the PNC on the ballot.

The Electoral Commission (EC) on Monday 10th October 2016 disqualified the People’s National Convention’s (PNC) Dr. Edward Mahama, Hassan Ayariga’s All People’s Congress (APC), , the Progressive People’s Party’s (PPP) Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, and other aspirants from contesting in the December elections.

EC boss Madam Charlotte Osei, who made the announcement at a press briefing Monday,said the disqualified candidates were unable to meet necessary requirements that makes them qualified to contest.

The rest of the disqualified candidates are Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) led by Dr. Hernry Lartey, the Independent People’s Party (IPP) led by Kofi Akpalu, Democratic People’s Party (DPP), led by Ward Brew, Akua’s Donkor’s Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akwasi Addai Odike’s United Progressive (UPP), and the Reformed Patriotic Democrats (RPD), led by Kwabena Adjei, and the United Front Party (UFP), led by one Nana Agyenim Boateng.
