No life jackets as another boat capsizes on Volta Lake

Another boat has capsized on the Volta Lake, exactly a week after a similar incident claimed 14 lives.

The boat carrying at least 50 passengers was caught in strong winds, while it headed to Yeji, a community in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The Strong winds battered the wooden vessel over into the rapid waters.

All the passengers were rescued, but they lost all their belongs and monies.

None of them wore a life jacket confirming a culture of weak safety practices that have become the bane of boat tragedies on the Volta Lake.

More soon….
