NDC school scheduled to launch this week

The leadership of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), have hinted of their plans to open to party members its much awaited political institute come Thursday at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra.

According to authorities, the setting up the school has become necessary in order to help graduates understand the ideals of social democracy on which the party thrives. Dr William Ahadzie, the NDC Director of research in a media interview disclosed that, the school mainly targets members and sympathizers of the NDC who want to understand the principles and ideologies of the party.

The Research Director also added that, the institute which will mainly focus on values and principles of social democracy will help many more NDC loyalists to understand the party’s beliefs and what it stands for in Ghana’s political history.

NDC’s Dr William Ahadzie is the acting rector of the school Dr Ahadzie who doubles as the Acting Rector of the school said, the institute would run some important programmes including philosophy and history of the NDC, history of Ghana, constitutional studies, party management, political communication, leadership skills as well as elections and electoral systems.

the institute for now will dedicate more time in focusing on short courses, workshops and conferences for party members and all other persons interested in learning more about social democracy. “We are not looking at NDC people only but people who share our ideals from other countries in the sub-region,” he said.

He also added that, the party has already begun process of having the school registered with the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE).
