NDC organiser busted with cocaine in UK

An organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been busted for transporting cocaine into the United Kingdom.

Ismaila Ali Horoya who is the Organiser of the party in Ayawaso East in the Greater Accra Region was grabbed by the United Kingdom Security agencies after he successfully went through security checks at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra.

The arrest was confirmed on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show by Greater Accra Minister Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, who is also MP for Kpone Katamanso and a Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee.

“I was trying to do my own investigations and it came out that he was arrested in his London home dealing in drugs with certain people…,” he said.

Horoya was elected organizer of the political party last year.

Information available to Adomonline.com indicates that he was arrested about a fortnight ago.
He is also said to be the son of a former member of the Council of State.
It is unclear how many kilos of the drug he was arrested with and how many years he has been in the cocaine business.

This is the second known case of a Ghanaian arrested in the Queen’s land for drug related offences in recent times.

In 2015, Nayele Ametefe was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment in the UK for carrying 12.5 kilograms of cocaine into the country.

It is however not clear whether he would be deported to Ghana to face trial or trialed in the UK as it happened in the Nayele Ametepe case.

The arrest came to light during the “Fabewoso” segment of Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ on Wednesday where host of the show, Captain Smart discussed the lack of logistics for the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) to fight the drug trade.
