NDC addresses NPP delegates in Cape-Coast -Read full text

The Deputy General-Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress has said the his party is in an obvious comfortable lead to win the 2020 general elections due to current happenings in the country.

He made this comments whilst addressing sympathisers and top ranking members of the New Patriotic Party monitored by Ghanapoliticsonline.com at their annual delegates conference on Saturday 26th August, 2017 in Cape-Coast.

Koku Anyidoho in his speech on behalf of the entire National Democratic Congress fraternity recounted the numerous promises the NPP made during the electioneering period such as providing jobs, payment of teacher trainee allowances, paying DKM customers and reduction of utility tariffs among others which is obviously proving futile per the changes in narrations of the ruling party.

He also urged the president His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo to stay genuinely to his words that he will not allow lawlessness to sink his image because Ghana is all we have we must do everything to keep the beauty of our democracy.

Fraternal Greetings From National Democratic Congress (NDC) @ 2017 NPP Delegates Congress, Cape Coast. Saturday, August 26, 2017.

Your Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Your Excellency Vice President Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor

Acting Chairman of NPP

Acting General Secretary of NPP

Leadership of the NPP

All members of the NPP

Dear brothers and sisters

I greet you in the name of the great NDC Party.

I bring you warm felicitations from the Founder, Council of Elders, Leader/Chairman, General Secretary, and all comrades of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

I am here based on the invitation of your Acting GS, and I am accompanied by …
and we thank you for the warm reception accorded us since our arrival last night.

The fact that the NPP can invite the NDC and other political parties to its congresses, and the fact that the NDC and the other political parties do same, is ample testimony of how far Ghana has walked up the positive paths of our Fourth Republican democratic dispensation, and we must be proud of our collective resolve to live in peace and harmony.

The year 2016, surely came with its high tensioned moments because it was an election year.

Various political parties lunged into the campaign with lots of verve and and a determined will to win the mandate of majority of Ghanaians to have to opportunity to give meaning to their manifesto pledges.

The NPP won: we once again say Ayekoo to the NPP for being declared winners of the 2016 general elections.

For emphasis, we say Ayekoo for being declared winners.

President Akufo-Addo Ayekoo! Vice President Bawumia, Ayekoo!!

On the 7th of January, 20/7, a peaceful and fast-developing Ghana was handed over to you by the NDC.

All we are saying, is; give us more peace and development.

The sweet campaign talk is over oooo: it is time to sit down and fulfill your promises.

Ultimately, as the governing party, we demand that you give us our peace!

We shall not compromise on our peace !!!

Give it to us or we shall demand it!

Give us jobs; give us roads; give us schools; pay nursing trainee allowances; employ nurses; pay teacher trainee allowances; reduce utility tariffs; pay DKM customers; pay contractors and please sack the army worms from Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana.

We have a well trained Army and don’t need an army of worms.

There is too much tension in the country as a result of the waning confidence of the electorate and as political parties and politicians, we must quickly restore trust and confidence.

The NDC shall not sit idly by and allow the Delta Forces and Invisible Forces to hold this nation to ransom as we continue to call on the law enforcement agencies to apply the rules of State without fear nor favour.

Lawlessness shall not be allowed to run riot and ruin Ghana.

Indeed, we are glad His Excellency the President continues to assure the nation that he will not allow lawlessness to sink his image and that of his Administration. We pray he stays genuinely committed to his words.

This dear nation of ours is all we have, and we must do nothing to destroy the beauty of our democracy.

The NDC shall never wish evil upon the NPP; we shall always wish you well!

However, we shall not shirk our responsibility of keeping you on your toes and planting your feet on the flame of good governance and accountability.

Ghanaians shall not allow you to dissipate the nation’s scarce resources in an unacceptable manner.

Ghanaians shall make you account for every pesewa of the taxpayers money; and we shall continue to inform and educate Ghanaians in ways that will keep them alive to either your good or bad styles of governance.

We wish you well in all your deliberations here and pray to the Almighty to grant all of us traveling mercies to and from Cape Coast.

I can assure you that the NDC is in a very comfortable lead to win 2020.

Thanks for inviting the NDC, and thanks for your kind attention.
