NDC Activist In Fatal Accident, Immediate Past Offinso PM Dead

A National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist in the Ahafo Ano South-West Constituency and former Unit Committee Chairman, Abdul Rahman, 37, lost his life when the motorbike he was riding crashed into a 207 bus on Tuesday.

His remains, which were kept at the morgue of the Mankranso Government Hospital, have been released to the family members for immediate burial.

Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Mankranso District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr John Adusei, said the unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday at about 5:45 p.m. at Asukwoi in the Ahafo Ano South District.

He said Rahman, who was riding his motorbike at a top speed in an attempt to avoid running into a pothole at Asukwoi, ran into an oncoming 207 Mercedes-Benz.

He said the rescue team that got to the scene rushed Rahman, who had sustained multiple degree of injuries, to the Mankranso Government Hospital where he died shortly on admission.

He said the driver of the 207 bus, Kwaku Oppong and some passengers who sustained minor injuries were treated and discharged at the Totiem clinic.

Offinso loses former PM

In a related development, the Offinso South Municipal Assembly lost its immediate past Presiding Member (PM), Opambuor Prempeh.

He died yesterday morning after a short illness while on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
