National Nutrition Policy launched in Accra

Overweight among women between ages 15 and 59 has doubled in recent times. Hypertension has also increased just as one third of citizens suffer from malnutrition.

This came to light when the Minister of Health, Alex Segbefia, launched a National Nutrition Policy in Accra.

The policy is to guide the implementation of nutrition specific interventions and contribute to the expansion and provision of a comprehensive service to cover all the determinants of malnutrition.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

The Minister said one out of five children in Ghana suffers from stunted growth and called for joint Action by stakeholders to accelerate Nutritional Improvement in Ghana.
