Nana cause of NPP woes’ – NPP Group
A group within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) calling itself Save NPP Now has accused the flagbearer and some leading members of being the cause of the Danquah-Busia-Domba tradition’s woes.
“Nana Addo for us is the brain behind the legion problems in our party and we feel the youth should begin asking critical questions about what is being done differently to win us power as we see little effort from him”, the group said in a statement signed by Director of Communications, Baah Acheamfour.
‘Save NPP Now’ said it is “troubled and uncomfortable with the way some few selfish officers and members are handling affairs and gradually leading the party into a ditch.”
The group, therefore, called on the moderates, true lovers, elders and senior members of the party to help salvage the elephant family before it is too late.
The group also blamed the flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo for the problems of the party.
Below is the full statement:
SAVE NPP NOW.
5TH JANUARY 2016
ELECTORAL COMMISSION’S RESPONDS TO NPP: ANY IMPACT ON VICTORY 2016?- SAVE NPP NOW SPEAKS!!
We the members of SAVE NPP NOW, a youth advocacy group within the elephant family is so troubled and uncomfortable the way some few selfish officers and members are handling the affairs and gradually leading our dear party into a long ditch. We therefore call on the moderates, true lovers, elders and senior members of our party to help salvage the party before it is too late.
For us once again, were not too surprised to hear the Election Managing body (EC) has thrown away, rejected and treated with contempt the petition containing our views and the way forward for conducting elections, and inputs in the reforms so directed and captured in the judgment of the supreme court for the elections petition hearing.
Our party has been hijacked by parallel structures like Dankwa Institute, Let My Vote Count, Office of Bawumia, etc., which continuously undermines the mainstream structures, and all the time get us on a journey of no return.
The same voter register that we claimed “produced more assemblymen for us as a party in the recently held district assembly elections that our flagbearer conspicuously absented himself from voting on protest as a “true lover of multi-party democracy”.
The same voter register that we claimed has “closed the gap” at Amenfi West by-elections and that it is a clear recipe for NDC’s defeat in 2016 is being forced to change.
Again, the same voter register that “won” us the 2012 elections which was stolen by NDC in connivance with Dr. Afari Gyan which kept us in legal banter for eight (8) months in the supreme court of our land is being undermined by a minority group in our party.
After all the pronounced noises made by Gabby Octere Darko’s “project Let My Vote Count” which was aimed at milking the Party’s limited funds against all the advice from the tough minds in the party, who are well versed in elections matters, that the only way for us to win is to strengthen our structures, train our officers and invest in our polling station executives, constituency executives, polling agents and the rest of the structures fell on deaf ears.
We have been badly bruised and disgraced as not grounded in facts and only making empty noises. Our running mate Dr. Bawumia has, once again, been exposed and ridiculed as a man of no fact, full of repetitions and long talk with no substance.
Let My Vote Count a very compromising young men used by Gabby to always milk the party fat was set in motion, a process that created unnecessary tension leading to a loss of an eye of an innocent party faithful.
Again our failed Chairman – Mac Manu, who cost us power and sent our noble party to opposition after the most successful leader of our tradition, President Kufour had performed so creditably, has once again been smuggled in by the cabals around Nana Addo solely to manipulate him and stash the party’s campaign funds.
It is necessary to unveil that at the stakeholder’s forum, Mr. Mac Manu made mention of the fact that, nothing will give us peace but for the change of the voter register. We the members of SAVE NPP NOW would want to know from him whether he still stands by this terrible statement or his position on that matter has changed.
We are very clear in our minds the trajectory for NPP victory 2016 is still on course, promising, workable and attainable if the right thing is done, and some few committed ‘hands’ in the campaign team are allowed to operate freely.
Nana Addo for us is the brain behind the legion problems in our party and we feel the youth should begin asking critical questions about what is being done differently to win us power as we see little effort from him.
SAVE NPP NOW represent the interest of our dear party and forever remain loyal and critical in support of our party’s strive to win political power come 2016 to redeem Ghanaians from bondage and so-called “incompetence”.
We will take this opportunity to wish all Ghanaians most especially members of the elephant family a prosperous new year.
Long live Ghana
Long live NPP
