The Government of the Nana Akufo Addo named Communication Director of New Patriotic Party as the Managing Director of Intercity State Transport Company.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Titus Glover, paid a working visit to the ISTC together with the Chief Director of the Ministry of Finance and other officials and made this known. He also held a meeting with the outgoing MD, Mr. Nuamah and management.

He commended the MD for taking steps to get the company out of the crisis, calling on the management and staff of the company to offer their full support to the incoming MD, Mr. Akomea.

He entreated management to manage the company like their own property to ensure success.

“Why is the private sector doing well more than government, is it because we don’t take government work seriously and we do whatever we like?” Mr. Glover quizzed.

“It is time for a paradigm shift to change things for the good of everybody.”

The outgoing MD, Mr. Nuamah said with structures he had put in place, ISTC would soon reclaim its past glory.

He said the company would receive about 100 buses from a private company this year, adding that a Driver Vehicle License Authority (DVLA) center would soon be established on the premises of the company to facilitate vehicle valuation and inspection.
