Nana Addo Must Call His Supporters to Order -Ghanapoliticsonline.com

The President elect must call his supporters to order. President Mahama and the NDC lost last Wednesday’s election and have graciously conceded defeat.

The President called Nana Addo to congratulate him even before official announcement by the EC. That singular honor is enough indication that our democracy has come of age.

We at Ghanapoliticsonline.com thinks , The best Nana Addo and his supporters must do is to reciprocate this “kind gesture” with high sense of civility. Nobody will or can stop the NPP from celebrating their victory.

What the NPP must know is that they are not yet in government. President Mahama’s term will elapse on the midnight of January 6, 2017. I have seen some ugly pictures on social media linked to unruly behavior of NPP supporters. District offices of NADMO and YES in the West Gonja District have been barricaded by NPP supporters. I have seen worrying pictures of how Wofa K has been slashed by alleged NPP thugs. I have also seen disturbing pictures of smashed NDC branded vehicles.

These things are reprehensible. The president elect must call his supporters to order NOW! I know he has looked on while his supporters visited harm on his supposed internal nemeses. Now that he has been elected President, he cannot appear to be oblivious of these dastardly act like he did in the past.

These things must not be allowed to fester. January 7 is just some few days away so why this reprehensible and backward behavior? We have conceded defeat, but we reserve the right to retaliate if these things continue.

We desire a peaceful country where he can fulfil his numerous promises. If the violence they are visiting on our colleagues continue, only God knows what will happen if the victims and their relatives and friends decide to retaliate.

This reckless behavior must stop NOW!
