Nana Addo lacks understanding of slogan and message – NDC

The comments by presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), do not have a message and that, Mahama’s message is only ‘e dey bee keke’; has incurred the wrath of Deputy Communications Director, Fred Agbenyo.

According to him, Nana Addo is not a candidate the NDC would want to waste their time on because, he lacks integrity, sincerity, leadership and has failed to prove to Ghanaians that he can manage this country. “Mahama says we in the NPP have no message.

His message of ‘e dey bee keke’ is one I will never put before the Ghanaian people. Is ‘e dey bee keke’ a message? What do you understand by ‘e dey bee keke’? If this is the kind of message he wants from the NPP, he will never get it,” the NPP flagbearer said addressing some members of the party at a mini rally.

Responding to this in an interview with Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Fred Agbenyo opined that, Nana Addo lacks understanding of a party’s slogan and a message.

He explained, the ‘e dey be keke’ is only a slogan used by President Mahama in the run up to the 2012 presidential election and was never the message of the party.

He maintained, the message of the party has been to invest in people, infrastructure- in the areas of education, health, roads among others.

The NDC he maintained as part of their message in 2012, promised to provide Ghanaians a transparent and accountable governance which they have delivered fairly.

Ghana he noted is already on the path of industrialization with government putting in measures to create more jobs for young people.

”The NDC has laid a strong foundation for industrialization of the economy and so we are not waiting for someone to come to promise us on something Mahama is already doing,” he added.

Touting the achievements of the NDC, Fred Agbenyo said, ”it will be sad for the leader of the NPP to make claims that, the Mahama led administration has failed on his promises; all because he want power at all cost.” ”Ghana is not a country for try me and see president, we need leaders with competence and a track record to manege this country.

President Mahama has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is positioned better Nana Addo to run this country,” he underscored.

Meanwhile, speaking on the same program, a communication team member of the NPP, Hopeson Adorye reiterated the position of the party that, Ghana has failed under the administration of the ruling government and their message is only ‘e dey be keke’ as their leader has said.

According to him, the NPP message message for this year’s election is on job creation, hinged on the industrialization of the economy and the modernization of agriculture.

The claims by the NDC that the NPP do not have a message is laughable, because the party, since 2008, has remained consistent on the message of industrializing Ghana’s economy, whereas President Mahama’s message-less campaign is evident in the refrain of “e dey bee keke”.

”The message of the NPP is about bringing jobs to the people of Ghana, and reviving our economy, and improving upon the living standards of the people,” he stressed.
