NANA ADDO DANQUAH-AKUFFO ADDO BOYCOTTS MP AND CHIEFS OF WEIJA-GBAWE CONSTITUENCY…..as their world Bank turns rural bank

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Danquah-Akuffo Addo
boycotted the NPP MP for the WEIJA-GBAWE constituency, Hon. Rosemond Comfort Abrah and the Chiefs as he toured the constituency on Wednessday, 22nd June, 2016.

The flagbearer who is touring the Greater Accra Region as part of his arise for change campaign ahead of the 2016 general elections deliberately sidelined the incumbent MP and traditional leaders of the Constituency but made his way to visit only the Asafoatse of Weija, Nii Pampamku to commiserate with him on the demise of his late wife. Nana Addo was earlier spotted at the Mallam Lorry park, where a handful of NPP sympathisers showed up to cheer their leader but it was very evident that euphoria was just not there.

The usual excitement and merry making that normally characterised such visits were totally absent because majority of the people are fed up with the lies and violent nature of the aspiring Npp PC, Tina Ayeley Mensah, they are just not happy about the divisive and tribal politics being preached by their PC. This sends a clear signal that indeed the people of Weija-Gbawe have tried and tested the Npp far too long and this is certainly the opportune time to make a change for a better tomorrow.

This visit will go down in history as one of the worst tour ever in the Weija-Gbawe constituency. Some die-hard supporters of the NPP in the constituency blame the low turnout on the Vice Chairman Mr Patrick Kumor who also doubles as the campaign financier and a campaign manager for failing to invite the incumbent MP and the Chiefs of the various communities within the Constituency.
They also expressed their displeasure on how Patrick Kumor and the PC madam Tina Mensah have hijacked the party and sidelined the elected constituency chairman and some executive perceived to be his allys.

They attributed the low turnout to Patrick Kumor’s inability to steer the affairs of the party in the constituency due to his inexperience in such position, one Mr Quartey, a party faithful could not understand why Patrick Kumor, the organizer for the visit did not inform the constituency executives and the co ordinators till the eve of the visit.

It is interesting to note that Immediately after their primaries, Hon. Rosemond Abrah in an interview stated that, Tina Mensah has not duly won the primaries and that she (Tina) stole the elections by using a different album which turned out to be true as the same album issue occurred in the Ablekuma South primaries involving Ursula Owusu. Hon. Rosemond vowed to take the matter to court for further probing and adjudication. It is indeed clear that the incumbent MP and her aspirant PC are not on good terms and the incumbent has not been spotted in the constituency or during any of the campaign activities of her party, hence the sideline.

“For some of us who have stayed in this constituency for a very long time, we can easily predict that the Npp has lost touch with people on the ground” an ardent NPP supporter exclaimed in disappointment.

To add salt to injury, the Npp deliberately boycotted the chiefs and elders of Weija and Gbawe who are the custodians of the land. “This show of disdain by Nana Addo and Tina Mensah is a sign of gross disrespect and highly unpardonable”, a chief expressed bitterly.GhanaPoliticsOnline.Com

One may not know what exactly might have caused these incidents but perhaps one can associate it to the very abysmal performance of the party’s
Members of parliament over the past 12 years.

Speaking to one of the disappointed supporters who mentioned his name as Christopher Nii Teiko Quaye he indicated that ” One can not also rule out the fact that the personality and performance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate Obuobia Darko-Opoku has made the Npp very unattractive in the constituency with her touch of perfection by bringing developmental projects and programmes into the Constituency.

The people have lost trust in the leadership of the Npp from national to the grass roots hence the low turnout. The fortunes of the Npp continues to dwindle each day as the NDC continues to overwhelm the electorate with various developmental projects.
