Founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Madam Akua Donkor have advised Ghanaians to be much scared of the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akuffo-Addo than the two detainees from Guantanamo Bay.
Justifying her stance on Neat FM in Accra, the outspoken politician argued that the detainees, Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby who have been sheltered by government are far friendlier and less harmful than the NPP leader.
Meanwhile, Head of the Catholic Bishops Conference, Rev Joseph Osei Bonsu has argued that the two detainees from the Guantanamo Bay Prison do not need the compassion of Ghanaians and that they they need to, as a matter of urgency get repatriated to their countries. Reacting to President Mahama’s insistence on Ghanaians to show compassion to the detainees, Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby, Rev Joseph Osei Bonsu argued that Ghana would not need to misplace the religious duty of compassion with the harm of terrorism.
