Nana Addo to appoint Frimpong Boateng as Science and Technology minister

President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo has dropped another name among persons he wants to appoint as ministers.

He has dropped hints he will appoint renowned Cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Kwabena Frimpong Boateng as Environment, Science and Technology minister.

He made the announcement when he spoke at the 36th Annual Technology Exhibition of Kristo Asafo in Accra.

Nana Akufo-Addo will be sworn in on January 7, 2017 as president with a huge expectation to deliver on his promises.
In March 2006, Frimpong-Boateng announced his intention to seek the nomination as the candidate of the NPP for the December 2008 national Presidential elections but lost to Nana Addo.

In 1992, he established the National Cardio Thoracic Centre which is now recognised by the West African College of Surgeons to train heart surgeons, cardiologists, cardiac anaesthetists, operating room nurses, intensive care nurses, cardiac technicians, and other cardiothoracic technicians.

He also performed the first open-heart surgery in Ghana using the heart-lung-machine.

Nana Addo also suggested Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Adwoa Sarfo will also have a place in his government.
Earlier, he said Dr Afriyie Akoto is likely to be named the Agriculture Minister.
