Nana Addo, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) was busted early this morning in a dramatic arrest on a French Airways Flight at Rennes Metropolis Airport by armed officers of the National Crime Agency, the French’s equivalent of the US’s FBI.
He joins the long list of NPP officials busted for drug-related money laundering activities which includes Eric Amoateng the former MP for Nkoranzah by UK officials.
The severity of the offences was indicated in the manner of his arrest, which bore similarities with how the notorious Eric Amoateng was arrested: NCA officials boarded the BA Flight No. 078 from Accra which arrived in Rennes this morning and arrested him right there on the plane for carrying cash in excess of £500,000.
Nana Addo was escorted off the plane, his wife in tow, under heavy security and is still being held by the NCA.
