Naa Torshie appointed CEO of Common Fund

Former Tema West Member of Parliament, Irene Naa Torshie Addo, has been appointed the Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund.

Her appointment was contained in a communique from the Presidency, read by the Speaker, Professor Mike Aaron Oquaye, on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday June 6.

Irene Naa Torshie Addo, if approved at vetting will replace Kojo Fynn, the former administrator who was relieved of his post by President Akufo-Addo.

Article 252 of the 1992 constitution of Ghana creates the District Assemblies’ Common Fund. The pool is provided with at least 5% of the national revenue, set aside to be shared among all District Assemblies in Ghana with approval by Parliament.

The Speaker of Parliament has referred the nomination to the Appointments Committee for consideration.
