MR. AKUFO ADDO SUSPENDS CONSTITUENCY EXECUTIVES IN ASHANTI REGION
exclusive report reaching the Ghanapoliticsonline.com and Weekly Guide Newspaper indicates that Mr. Akufo Addo through the Ashanti Regional Chairman, popularly known as Chairman Wuntumi and Dr. Amoako Tuffuor have suspended four Bosome Freho constituency executives from their various positions.
The suspended executives includes the Constituency Chairman, Women’s Organiser, Deputy Youth Organiser and the Communications Officer.
In the letter of suspension dated 23rd August 2016 and signed by Dr. Amoako Tuffuor, their reasons for suspension was that they acted negatively towards the Parliamentary Candidate of the Constituency, Mrs. Joyce Adwoa Ako Dei. As to what amounted to the negatives, the letter failed to mention.
However, contrary to this letter, and according to our sources, these executives are against the current ill treatment against some party persons especially those who have from time to time expressed their views on various issues affecting the party. It is also believed that at party meetings they passionately spoke about the stewardship of the party’s flagbearer, Mr. Akufo Addo which was nothing to write home about. They believe their flagbearer is not prosecuting a vigorous campaign expected of him and that he has also failed to keep the party together.
By this their criticisms, words reached the Nima residence of the opposition flagbearer and the authorities in Ashanti Region were instructed to suspend them since Mr. Akufo Addo is not ready to work with anyone who disagrees with his line of thoughts and actions.
It will be recalled that, a lecturer at KNUST, Dr. Samuel Gyamfi somewhere last year described Mr. Akufo Addo as a ‘ democratic dictator’ who only wants to hear his voice.
The President of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama also took turn in recent times to describe him as a dictator who suspends anyone who dares to criticize him.
Political pundits have wondered why such front line executives of the party at the grassroots level can be suspended when it is barely 4 months to the general elections, and also when all hands are needed on deck.
As at the time of going to press, we have been reliably informed that another six executives from the same constituency have been suspended and are yet to receive their suspension letters.
