Monumental Corruption: How Flagstaff House has fallen under Akufo-Addo

HE HAS RENAMED THE FLAGSTAFF HOUSE ON HIS BIRTHDAY BECAUSE OF ITS “STINKY” IMAGE

…CELEBRATES HIS EXTRAVAGANT BIRTHDAY BASH WITH FOREIGN BUSINESS FRIENDS.

One of the most flagrant abuses of good governance in Africa is occurring in Ghana under its leader Nana Akufo-Addo. How can President Akufo-Addo spend millions of cedis on renaming of the Presidency and on a German custom-built personal car as birthday gift- a AMG-S65 with lots of sophisticated features both mechanically and for the interior. In the automobile business, it is referred to as muscle car for its performance with speed and handling. It can withstand bullets, grenades and landmines. The expensive custom-built birthday present, is fitted with CD player, movies, Internet, anti-bugging devices, massager. It also sports a AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7-speed transmission, liquid to air intercooling that reduces intake Tempsford. At five five tons it does about two kilometres per litre of fuel. According to experts in the automobile business, it has to be followed by a tanker of petrol. Nana Akufo-Addo has also purchased a carpool of dozens of German custom built lesser Mercedes for his daughters, wife, family members and close associates.

You may wonder why Nana Akufo-Addo who promised Ghanaians was coming to protect national purse, will spend millions of cedis and dollars of the country’s revenue on these expensive cars in a country running on empty. According our source, a Nigeria in-law of the President who deals in energy drinks, recently presented seven (7) Maybach Mercedes 4- door sedan equipped with a 6.OL biturbo V-12 engine which cost between $190,300 and $200,000. Ghanaians are yet to be told how the youngman cleared the cars from our port and his dealings with the administration. The turns out of Akufo-Addo’s government did not come as a surprise, even amongst some party chieftains. The vision of what his administration will be was glaring but as human nature holds unto the glimpse of surprise and miracle, many, in spite of face staring evidences including what were told by Nana Ohene Ntow, the former party chairman Mr Afoko, Kwabena Agyepong among others, were hoping that either by sheer luck or divine intervention, reality is cut short. It was on the basis of this illusion that his aspiration was supported in 2016.

The problem with the fall of Akufo-Addo is not just that of his gargantuan deception, massive corruption and abuse of trust against the promises made to the people but rather the widening of the divide between the rich and the poor and between the ruler and the ruled. The wanton dissipation of scarce state resources on frivolous projects, jamborees etc is a clear indication of the rot and decadence of the Akufo-Addo-led administration. The President has deliberately refused to institute proper investigation into reports of corruption allegations involving his appointees including the grievous BOST scandal, activities at the National Communication Authority, allegations against his two deputy chiefs of staff, the cash for seat scandal, inflation of cost, breaching of procurement regulations, illegal oil deals with foreign companies, bribes taking at the Presidency, etc.

The Judiciary which would have been the last hope has now become a tool in the hands of the Presidency after series of forceful submissiveness, insults and intimidation of judges. Failure of our noble judges, security heads, heads of our investigative agencies to dance to the rhythm of the President or dole out exparte orders as when requested automatically qualifies such persons for Flagstaff house invitation, BNI harassment or outright dismissal. That is the new Ghana under Nana Akufo-Addo the human right lawyer.

According to close sources, Nana’s Jubilee themed party was attended by top foreign business friends who have been promised lucrative contracts. Guest had lots of drinks. According to our source, the Nigerian in law of the President and some Nigerian and Chinese friends arrived in two expensive Mercedes cars and a double cabin pick-up that was carrying expensive champagne for the event. Our sources said they were amazed that when they saw workers at the flagstaff house pack expensive Italian brand of bottled water and one of the world’s largest and expensive water brands from the pick-ups. It is alleged that the President was gifted with Giuseppe Zenotti shoes worth thousands of dollars by the Nigerians.

The President spent millions of dollars on his birthday party and change of name of the Presidency when the country’s deteriorating economic conditions and unemployment are forcing more and more cash strapped Ghanaians to live on the margins of society and without basic necessities. The world bank and some renowned experts recently indicated that Ghana’s Economic and poverty have reached numbling levels amid indications that the situation will worsen in 2019 and beyond if government continue implementing its outmoded economic policies and needless expenses.

The money that has been collected from international business magnates to bankroll this obscene jamboree should be immediately channeled towards the building of more hospitals, Chip compounds, schools etc.

The other interesting development is the proposal to name one of the blocks inside the Flagstaff house after Dr J.B Danquah. I think Ghanaians have had enough of this J.B Danquah agenda. If we’ve adopted democracy, then we must be ready to learn and practice all the associated practices and ethic. Ghana, the torch bearer of Africa, well respected globally, cannot settle on one name for its Presidency? Is this one of the legacies this President want to bequeathed to Ghanaians.?
