Owners Of Montie FM & Three Others To Appear Before Supreme Court Today

The Supreme Court will today hear the contempt case against owners of Montie FM, and three others for scandalous comments made on the station.

The three are a host of the station, Salifu Maase and two panelists, Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn.

They are to explain to the court why they should not be committed to prison for contempt.

According to the summons, on the 29th of last month, the panelists ran commentary on the then pending Abu Ramandan case.

In the course of it, they were spurred on by the host and allegedly threatened and scandalized the court.

According to the summons, the action of the respondents have defied and lowered the authority of the court bringing it into disrepute.

At the last sitting the Court ordered lawyer Nana Ato Dadzie who represented Montie FM in the contempt case to produce the Directors of the company today

The court presided over by Justice Sophia Akufo did not agree why the company, as an entity should be represented by one person.

Earlier, the Chief Justice, Mrs. Georgina Theodora Wood and Justice Sulley Gbadegbe recused themselves from the panel to hear the contempt application
