Ministry for the Interior renews curfew on Bunkpurugu, Bimbilla, others

The Ministry for the Interior has on the advice of the Northern and Volta Regional Security Council renewed the curfew on Bunkpurugu from 8pm to 6am, effective the 26th of this month.

That for Alavanyo and Nkonya has been changed from 11pm to 5am effective today, Friday 22nd April 2016. Kpatinka from 12 midnight to 4am, effective today,Friday 22nd April 2016 and Bimbilla from 6pm to 6am also effective today,Friday 22nd April 2016.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

A statement signed by the Interior Minister, Prosper Bani, urged chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth and people of these areas to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them.

They must use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.

The statement repeated that there is a ban on all persons in those areas from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and any person found with arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
