Melcom Care Donates To 2 Schools

 Melcom Care Foundation, a charity harm of Melcom Group of companies has donated items worth of thousands of Ghana cedis to two schools across the country over the week in Accra.

The donation forms part of their corporate social responsibility in helping the brilliant but needy students in the society and to equip some deprived institutions with the necessary support.

Some of the items donated included, exercise books, pencils, colour pencils, sharpeners, crayons, erasers, pens and other things to some students.

The two schools, namely Have Technical Institute in the Volta Region and the Holy Child School in the Central Region.

The Have Technical Institute were given two gas burners, one with oven and the other without oven and two gas cylinders to enable the school authorities start the catering program without any further delay has it been accredited by Ghana Education Service to run such additional program.

The Holy Child School in the Central Region who is also organizing its staff awards, the Melcom care has donated to the deserving teachers: one akai rechargeable fan, one optima two face fan and two akai steam irons.

At a short presentation ceremony held last Friday in Accra, the Director of Communication of the Melcom Group of Companies, Mr. Godwin Avenorgbo, said the Melcom group would continue in its efforts in improving access to and standards in education.

He said the foundation would not limit its support to educational institutions alone but will support the health delivery of both public and private health institutions across the country.

The Melcom group, the communications Director said would also give attention to the environmental issues as its takes steps to replacing all non-degradable rubbers bags with newly manufactured oxo biodegradable rubber bag over a given period.
