ON MATTER OF PRINCIPLE I STAND TO COMMENT ON APPOINTMENT OF FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES IN AKUFO-ADDO’S GOVERNMENT

I have noted with admiration, several calls from the public, soliciting my views on the size of family members in the government of His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo.

I see these calls as fair, considering the position I took against the then president of the republic His Excellency John Dramani Mahama over the number of family members and friends who were serving under his administration.

I must take this opportunity, through this release, to state that I am highly disappointed in the size of family members, friends, business associates and mostly, tribesmen in the government of Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.

While at that, I must point a weakness in running this type of government – fighting corruption becomes difficult as individuals to be prosecuted and perhaps ridiculed for indulging in corruption would be relations as we are witnessing already.

It must be on record that I stand by this principle which I am committed to and would always advance anytime I see such nepotism being practiced in our governance structure.
