Martin Kpebu gives evidence in Afoko case

The second witness in the suit challenging the suspension of Paul Afoko from the NPP, Martin Kpebu says the Disciplinary Committee which took the decision was not properly constituted with the inclusion of the MP for Tarkwa Nsuaem, Gifty Kusi.

He therefore described the suspension of Mr Afoko as unconstitutional.

According to Mr Kpebu who was Afoko’s lawyer at the time of his suspension, he raised legal objections on the petition brought against the suspended chairman which was never considered by the committee.

He said instead, a decision was taken to suspend Mr Afoko.

Mr Kpebu represented Mr Afoko at the Disciplinary Committee’s hearing on the petition.

He told the court that the plaintiff is exercising his rights by the action as a member of the NPP, adding that, Mr Afoko resorted to the court after exhausting all internal remedies within the party.

The case has been adjourned to next Wednesday.
