Mahama upbeat about projects continuation ….as he bids farewell in final SONA

Outgoing President, John Mahama is upbeat about the prospects of the incoming government to continue with existing projects started under his watch.

Addressing the legislature, in his final State of the Nation Address (SONA),the President highlighted his achievements in the areas of education, social protection, health, water and sanitation, power, economy, road and transport and governance.

According to Prez. Mahama, Ghana has attained over 80percent access to electricity under his helm, whilst Ghana’s GDP is almost US$39bn, and the second largest economy in West Africa.

President Mahama, is leaving behind several uncompleted projects dotted across the country; including the Ho and Wa Airports, Kasoa interchange,Tema Motorway expansion project, among others.

He expressed optimism in the incoming government to continue from where he left off.

He said; “My administration commenced the construction of new community day senior high schools, a policy of progressively free secondary education, construction of the eastern university, investments in many infrastructure projects that are ongoing and many others that will actually commence under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

I am assured by his firm statements that he will continue these projects as enjoined by our constitution.”

Furthermore, he touted some of his achievements in the road and transport sectors comprising the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, the Kasoa overhead bridge, the Airport hills/Burma Camp network of roads and the 37- El Wak-Trade fair road .

Others include, the asphalt overlay of roads in Regional and District capitals and massive investments in cocoa roads and the continuation of the Eastern corridor road project among others.
