Mahama sees his incompetence as success – Boakye Agyarko

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a swipe at the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for building a future of “lies, excuses and broken promises”.

According to the party’s Policy Advisor, Boakye Agyarko, a government that puts corruption first can only pay lip service to putting Ghanaians first.

He made the comment at the NPP’s ‘broken promises encounter’ at the party’s headquarters in Accra just two days after the governing party launched a promise filled manifesto on Saturday at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region.

The 80-page document titled: “Changing Lives, Transforming Ghana” according to President John Mahama has the best plan for the development of Ghana as it was birthed from the ideology and constitution of the party.

But Boakye Agyarko said the manifesto is full of “grandiose promises by the ruling party which seeks to lie its way into another term”

“The NDC coming to the end of its term. One expects the NDC to bid for the election on their past records, rather they are making grandiouse promises of what they will do if re-elected. Over the weekend, yet another avalanche of promises were made. One can predict the future of Mahama based on what happened in the past,” he noted.

The NPP Policy Advisor indicated that a President who sees his non-performance as success is not fit to lead the country.

“The future under Mahama is a future of lies and broken promises. Are people better off as they promised; Mr President have improved the management of economy and public policy have tackled corruption. These are the blueprints to which a government can be assessed not a phantom of promises made which are to be broken anyway,” he added.

Mr. Boakye Agyarko said Ghana’s future is bleak if the Mahama-led government is given another term in office.

“Who is NDC trying to fool? Stealing ideas they cannot implement and subjecting Ghanaians to penury all the more. There has been dumsor for 4 years, four years of joblessness. A government that puts people first is one that is competent and implement promises that makes life better for all, not the one that takes away from the people. It is evident John Mahama cannot be trusted to put people first. It is rather a government that puts corruption first,” he stated.
