Mahama installed ‘Mputuohene’ by Asokore chiefs

President Dramani Mahama has been installed as the ‘Mputuohene’ or development chief by the chiefs and people of Asokore in the Eastern Region.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate who is seeking a second mandate was adorned in Kente cloth and handed a sword to signify his new position and enstoolment.

Candidate Mahama was mobbed in towns even known as NPP stronghold as he rounded up his tour of the Eastern Region.

At Abetifi, Nkroso and Osiem, candidate Mahama inaugurated refurbished markets, roads and commissioned electricity projects prompting the chiefs to pledge support for his candidature adding he needn’t be faint hearted but be assured of victory in the 2016 elections.

President Mahama also took time to explain the challenges associated with the nursing trainees allowance scraping and reinstatement.

He said since the teacher training schools had been upgraded from diploma to degree awarding institutions like the Cape Coast University, University of Ghana and School of Education, Winneba, the trainee allowance offered the student teachers had ben converted to a loan facility which they could access as other tertiary students do but regretted the opposition NPP had chosen to play partisan politics with the issue.

President Mahama also visited Sempoa in the Abetifi constituency and Ofoase –Ayeribi eventually addressing a notable rally at Koforidua.
