MAHAMA AYARIGA BEGINS THANK YOU TOUR

Member of Parliament for Bawku Central and Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Mahama Ayariga has began a “Thank you Tour” to show his appreciation to his constituents for re-electing him to represent them in parliament.

The MP who was met with a cheerful reception from the chiefs including Bawku Naba, Naa Abugrago Azorka VIII promised to work hard and deliver all his promises.

Naa Abugrago Azorka VIII on the other hand pledged his unflinching support to Hon Mahama Ayariga for the maintenance of peace and stability above all massive development the Municipality has enjoyed since he became the Member of Parliament

The National Democratic Congress won 12 out of 15 seats in the Upper-east region during the just ended 2016 general elections.

The Bawku Central seat was keenly contested by the NDC and NPP with other parties recording smaller margins. Madam Gabiana Abugre of the NPP managed 21,104 votes being 47.69% losing to the Harvard trained Lawyer who had 22,611 a total of 51.10%. This is the first time one party has held the seat for two consecutive terms.

Other parties who presented candidates include the Convention People’s Party, Progressive People’s Party and one independent candidate Ayuuba Seidu.
