Mahama, Akufo-Addo, Greenstreet boycott National Peace Summit

A National Peace Summit that was meant to bring four Presidential candidates competing for this year’s elections to discuss and submit themselves to peace saw three of the candidates absenting themselves.

They are President John Dramani Mahama, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Ivor Greenstreet.

The three are flagbearers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Conventional Peoples Party (PNC) respectively.

The event dubbed “Preserving A Millenium of Peace; Our Collective Responsibility’ had the Dr. Edward Mahama, Presidential Candidate of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) participating.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

A representative of the Electoral Commission of Ghana and the Chairman National Peace Council, Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante also graced the occasion.

It is immediately not known why the three candidates fail to show up at the event.

The Summit was jointly sponsored by the Rotary Club Accra – Legon and EIB Network.

It event programmed to start at 10:00 GMT at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre but delays due to the absence of the three candidates pushed it to 11:00GMT.
