‘Lordina’s’ name cited in a huge COCOBOD Contract – Kennedy Agyepong

Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyepong has alleged that someone only identified as Lordina has been awarded a contract in cocoa health and extension division under COCOBOD to supply chemicals for cocoa farmers across the country.

According to the MP, the contract was awarded through sole sourcing and the awardee was required to supply the chemicals to various cocoa sheds nationwide.

However, what he cannot state categorically is, if the said Lordina mentioned in the document he claims is in his possession, has any link with the First Lady Lordina Mahama.

“I want to ask Dr Opuni who is Lordina under the Cocoa Health and Extension mandated to supply chemicals to cocoa sheds”, he inquired.

The MP added that “there are tonnes of alleged corrupt deals in COCOBOD under the watch of Dr Stephen Opuni the CEO, which must be exposed especially unprecedented contracts that have been awarded without going through tender”.

He also revealed that a year under Dr. Opuni as CEO of COCOBOD, his office has seen a lot of refurbishments which are questionable and has more often allegedly used his own company to execute contracts for COCOBOD.

“Opuni should get ready because we are coming after him to answer questions about his tenure as CEO of COCOBOD”, he forewarned.
