Our attention was drawn last night to a video you shared on your Facebook page about what Rev Owusu Bempah actually said about who will win the US election.

It is not my intention to query you on why you shared that video, but I am utterly scandalized by your forceful attempt to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Some few weeks ago, we raised serious concerns about how the hitherto thought provoking Good Evening programme was gradually sliding into an abyss. I thought you would take note of genuine concerns being raised by Ghanaians over the calibre of people you engage on that programme of late.

Though Ghanapoliticsonline.com, don’t have any right to determine who appears on your show, we reserve the right, at least, to straighten you when things are not going on well. That is the only way we can get the best out of you.

For some time now, you have been obsessed with Rev Owusu Bempah. You offered him your noble platform to say all manner of gibberish under the guise of prophesy.

We took it as one of the low points in journalism. Though we were disappointed in you, we took solace in the fact that you made a genuine mistake and that when you are offered another opportunity, you will not visit on us such crass hawkishness.

Well, It appears you did not realize how your image dipped when Rev Owusu mounted that platform to be questioned. You brought Abyna Ansah Adjei of the NPP to waste our precious time, we did not complain; then you brought Chairman Wontumi to unleash his deadly and poisonous grammar on us, we overlooked it; you then worsened the case by inviting Rev Owusu Bempah, we raised alarm about your sudden change in style and now you are here attempting to straighten lies told by this man of God.

We were shocked, in fact shock is even an understatement, to read a writeup accompanying Rev Owusu Bempah’s video. In the writeup, you attempted, for reasons best known to you, to erroneous suggest that Rev Owusu Bempah predicted a Donald Trump win. Thank God we can speak moderate twi so I understand the language.

In the video you shared, Rev Owusu Bempah was emphatic that Hilary Clinton will win the US election. He repeated same on n more than two occasions that “obaa nu b3 fa”. Even where he tried to play his usual antics by saying the ‘man’ will attempt to upstage Clinton, he insisted that the ‘man’ will try but he will not succeed.

Even when you have presented this glaring evidence to reveal the falsity in Rev Owusu Bempah’s supposed prophecy, you went ahead to say he got it right. Why do you want to make a liar a hero when it is clear that he lied?

Rev Owusu Bempah, like T B Joshua, knows he lied. God never revealed anything to him. He was swayed by opinion polls and media hypes. What he said was never based on any divine message from God. He heard people say Clinton will win, so he also joined the bandwagon.

The Americans have a crafty way of blowing the underbelly of fake prophets and they did exactly that with a Trump victory.

We have been fighting to weed out charlatans masquerading as men of God from the system. We have not been successful but God in his own way has started exposing them. The best you can do as a media house is to lift the veil on these religious criminals.

If it is your hopes to shield Rev Owusu Bempah or wash away his shame, trust me, you have failed miserably. The world now knows that Rev Owusu Bempah lied so no amount of damage control will save his battered image.

Focus on building your brand. These things will not help you. I will be surprised if Rev Owusu Bempah paid you to do this. I pray these image denting things do not repeat itself.
