Kwabenya Community Day SHS Admits First Batch Of Students

Registration of first batch of students into various programmes at the Kwabenya Community Day Senior High School for the 2016/2017 academic year has commenced Monday, 31st October, 2016.

Students have started reporting on the first day in their uniforms – the boys in white shirt and black shorts while the girls dressed in green check uniform. It is however not clear whether this attire is their official uniform but one of the students told Ghcampus.com that ‘this is the uniform we were asked to sow.’

Staff of the school have declined to speak to our reporter, saying they have been advised not to speak to the media.

Kwabenya Community Day SHS is one of the 200 Day schools the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by President John Dramani Mahama promised to build in four years. But according to government, only 123 of them are at various stages of completion.

Last month, GhCampus.com reported that, the Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Jacob Kor at a press briefing in Accra indicated that a total of 42 Community Day Senior High Schools (SHS) are expected to start admission of their first batch of students for 2016/2017 academic year.

He said, each school is expected to admit at least 400 students.

Only students within 16 kilometres radius from the school are considered for placement in the School.

Kwabenya Community Day SHS is yet to be commissioned.
