Kumasi Police Arrest 4 NPP With Over 50,000 Fake ‘NPP New Recharge Cards’

Police in Ashanti Region have arrested four persons including a Chinese for possessing and transporting a cache of over 50,000 fake pieces of the recently launched NPP airtime cards , “DONATE FOR CHANGE”

The suspects, three of whom are Ghanaians were picked up upon a tip off last night. Jem FM’s Otu Ohemeng Nathaniel who has been following the story reports the suspects were arrested at a House in Asawasi, a suburb of Kumasi.

The items retrieved include 20 Dell desktop computers, 10 HP printers and a countless printed fake recharge cards, Nathaniel reported.

The police will not disclose the identities of the suspects except to say that the Chinese is claiming ownership of the computers and printers. The Chinese claimed to have been recruited and supplied with computers and printers for such exercise by one Gabby Asare Otchere Darko who agreed with the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Antwi Bosiako, alias Wontumi to provide the Chinese with shelter and basic human needs that will facilitate the smooth operations of that exercise.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

Police believe there is more to this arrest and have begun a thorough investigation into the matter.
The police is yet to schedule a date for a press conference on this latest arrest. It will be recalled that Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party launched a fund raising scheme on Wednesday 13th April 2016 at the party’s headquarters where he pleaded with his party members and Ghanaians to purchase a new recharge cards created by the NPP as a means of support to the 2016 campaign of the Nana Akufo-Addo. The card is dubbed DONATE FOR CHANGE, KETEWA BIAA NSWA. http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

The General Public is advised to temporarily stop the purchase of this newly launched recharge cards of the NPP in order not to fall victims of fraudsters.
