Kumasi Academy temporarily closed over ‘mysterious deaths’

Kumasi Academy (KUMACA), has been temporarily closed down after students protested last night, following the mysterious death of three students.

The students say they are living in fear and not able to concentrate after the death of their colleagues.

Their protest was to demand the actual cause of the death of their colleagues.

Some Parents are reported to have thronged the school early this morning (April,1) to take their wards home after school authorities asked the students to go home.

Meanwhile, Radio Ghana has gathered that last night’s student unrest at Kumasi Academy left one of the school’s buses partly damaged.

A source at the Regional Office of the Ghana Education Service who spoke on grounds of anonymity confirmed tobus, noting that the school authorities are expected to submit a report on the matter.

The Assistant Headmaster in Charge of Academics, Ernest Wiafe, blamed the media for creating fear and panic by sensationalizing the issue and causing parent agitation.
