Kufuor Was An Autocratic Thief -Rawlings (Lest we forget)

Jan 10 2014…….

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah says Ghanaians are tired with the ?unsubstantiated allegations? by former President Jerry Rawlings.

According to him, it is almost becoming a norm for the former president to accuse others of wrong doing just to get media attention.

Kofi Jumah was reacting to Mr. Rawlings? criticism of his successor, ex-president Kufuor on Asempa FM?s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday.

The former President described Mr. Kufuor as an ?autocratic thief?, who he claims presided over corruption, while in government.GhanaPoliticsOnlinea.Com

Mr. Rawlings, who was speaking at the closing ceremony of the regional camp of the International Youth Fellowship at the Adidome Senior High School vowed to always remind Ghanaians of Kufuor?s corrupt deeds.

However, Kofi Jumah called on Ghanaians especially the NPP to pardon Mr. Rawlings for the gaffe because ?he is acting out of frustration?.

He said it is natural for any unemployed person to act the way the former president is doing since, ?Mr. Rawlings hardly get media attention to air his views.

?Whiles President Kufuor is being given position at the United Nations; Rawlings is being invited by either primary or secondary school students, so the attack is natural.

?As the saying goes, the devil finds job for the idle hand, so I will appeal to radio stations to give Mr. Rawlings some airtime to host a show that will keep him busy?, the former MP noted.

Kofi Jumah sarcastically said that while Mr. Rawlings await his employment, he should quit ranting and emulate president Kufuor?s statesmanship.
