Korle Klottey NDC rallies support for Zanetor

Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings is the duly elected parliamentary candidate of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Korle Klottey, the party’s constituency leaders have affirmed.

In a statement jointly signed by Chairman Bashiru Nii Narh Alema, Secretary Dizzy Quaye, Communications Director Emmanuel Ashaley Tetteh, and Deputy Communications Director Julius Logass, the constituency executives urged party members to support Dr Agyeman-Rawlings to retain the seat for the NDC rather than challenge her eligibility, as some party members are seeking to do.

“The Constituency Executives of the NDC in the Klottey Korley Constituency have observed, with some level of discomfort, recent happenings within the party in the constituency.

“While we salute our members for the exemplary conduct and the uncommon maturity exhibited before, during, and immediately after the primaries, we wish to register our discomfort with some events over the last couple of days and call for ceasefire and the return of all parties and stakeholders in the current feud to the round table so we can jaw-jaw and plan together as one family with a common destiny and interest,” the constituency said in a statement.

According to the statement, the daughter of the former first family went through all the necessary processes before contesting to become a candidate. “We wish to avert the minds of our members to the fact that all those who contested were vetted by the vetting committee headed by the General Secretary of the party and duly cleared to contest.”

“With the primaries over, the constituency now has a legitimately and duly elected parliamentary candidate in the person of Dr. Zanetor Rawlings.

“We acknowledge the constitutional rights of our members, as citizens of Ghana to seek redress in matters they have a difficulty in understanding. However, we wish to appeal to all our members to be mindful of the implications of certain actions on our forward march as a party in the constituency and hereby call for calm and total support for the duly elected candidate, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings.

“Having held the seat for two consecutive times coupled with the many gigantic achievements of this government in the constituency, we are more than confident of defending the seat successfully and retaining it for the NDC,” the constituency executives added.
