National Organizer of NDC, Hon Kofi Adams has clarified allegations going round that two parliamentary candidates filed on the ticket of NDC in the Afram Plains South Constituency.
Speaking to GhanaPoliticsonline.com after Hon. Joseph Appiah Boateng withdrawn at the 11th hour to end nominations , he said that the party in consultation with the Constituency and regional executives gave instructions that Oliver kevor who doubles as the Eastern Regional secretary should contest on the ticket of NDC .
This bring to rest speculations that NDC Filed Two Candidates In the Afram Plains South Constituency .
Earlier on some media outlets mentioned that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has replaced Hon. Joseph Appiah Boateng with The party’s regional Secretary, Kevor Mark-Oliver as the party’s Parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains south constituency for the upcoming elections.
Other reports also indicated that Eric Osei Owusu, who placed a close second in the party’s primaries to Hon. Joseph Appiah Boateng in November, 2015 has also filed his nomination to contest the Afram Plains south constituency seat on the Ticket of the ruling NDC in the December, 2016 elections but according to the National Organier who doubles as the campaign coordinator the party have only confirmed Oliver Kevor’s candidature.
About the motive behind Hon. Joseph Appiah Boateng stepping down he stated that “it is not the NDC party who asked Hon. Joseph Appiah Boateng to step down but rather he made that choice on his own since he has some pending unsettle issues in court and promised to support anyone the party elects”.
