I killed for politicians – GHC25,000 per head

Isaac Kwasi Fosu, an unemployed middle-aged man, stunned an Accra Magistrate Court Thursday when he confessed to killing 17 people across the country for politicians.

Even though the accused could not mention who his supposed politician clients were, he alleged that he was paid GH¢25,000 by his contracting partners for the killings.

He claimed that he carried out the gruesome act with four other people who are now on the run.

Fosu aka T O was arrested by the police on April 12 at Atibie Amanfrom in the Eastern Region after his cover was blown for allegedly murdering Kwaku Owiredu, a 15-year-old boy, in a cocoa farm at Abokyikrom near Nkawkaw.

The Holy Family Hospital at Nkawkaw has given the interim report on the cause of Owiredu’s death as hemorrhagic shock, sharp edged laceration of anterior and suspected assault.

Wanted

The police are on the heels of the four other accomplices currently on the run. They are Kwame Alex, Yaw Ampofo, William Arthur and Yaa Pokua.

According to the prosecution, Fosu and the four others on November 29 last year at Abokyikrom intentionally caused the death of Kwaku by causing unlawful harm.

During his first appearance in the court presided over by Gloria Naa Botor Laryea, Isaac Kwasi Fosu was charged with conspiracy to murder and murder.

The magistrate accordingly remanded Fosu into police custody until June 18 to enable the police enough time to complete their investigations.

Facts

The facts of the case are that Nana Manu Asiamah, the chief of Abokyikrom, is the complainant while Fosu, a resident of Atonie in the Brong-Ahafo Region, is the accused.

The prosecutor said on November 29, the chief reported to the police that he had been informed that a young man had been killed and dumped into a bush.

A team of policemen were dispatched to the scene and found the deceased who was later identified as Kwaku, with a deep cut on his throat.

The court further heard that the police investigation team revealed that Kwaku lived with the father, one Kwadwo Awuah, at Korantengkrom in the Kwahu area.

The prosecution indicated that on the day of the incident, Mr Awuah left home early in the morning for church at Abokyikrom and that Kwaku was to follow later but whilst in the church, he (Awuah) was informed by his brother that his son had been killed.

According to the prosecutor, Awuah’s brother told him that on his way to Abokyikrom he saw a sandal stained with blood which looked like that of Kwaku’s.

In his caution statement, Fosu admitted murdering Kwaku and mentioned the four others as his accomplices, alleging that he and his gang had killed 17 people across the country.

The police said Fosu mentioned Alex as the leader who normally engaged them to do the killings and supply him (Alex) with the human blood for a fee of GHC25,000.
