Ken Agyapong slapped with GHC5 million defamation suit alongside two entities

Former CEO of Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST) Mr Awuah-Darko has sued outspoken politician and Assin South MP, Ken Agyapong over alleged defamatory comments he made.

The suit follows some comments Kennedy Agyapong is alleged to have made in relation to some on radio accusing him of misappropriation.

Kennedy Agyapong is also alleged to have accused Awuah-Darko of supervising a $230 million at BOST during his tenure as CEO.

Ken Agyapong was sued together with Multimedia Ghana Limited and KenCity Media Limited.

Multimedia was attached to the suit for providing their platform, Asempa FM for the defamatory comments to be made while Oman FM was sued for allowing Kennedy Agyapong to pass his commentary on their frequency.

In the suit filed by Awuah-Darko, he concluded that the allegations made by the maverick politician meant that during his time at BOST, he had “whether directly or indirectly, engaged in criminal conduct including stealing of public funds, misappropriation of public funds, defrauding the state, corruption and the crime of causing financial loss to the state”.

This is the second suit slapped on the businessman in a day as earlier on Wednesday, July 5, Senyo Hosi, CEO of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors sued him for alleging that he, Mr. Hosi, attempted to bribe the under pressure BOST MD Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng.
