KATH concentrates on emergency admissions following shortage of doctors

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital says it is only concentrating on emergency cases for now following an acute shortage of doctors at the facility.

OPD cases have also been scaled down.

The decision to concentrate on emergency cases was taken after an emergency management meeting.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Ghana, the Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, Kwame Frimpong, explained that doctors who have completed their Housemanship with the hospital have not been replaced.

He added that the Health Ministry is working on the issue.
