Former President Jerry John Rawlings delivering his address at the 37th anniversary of the June 4 uprising
Former President Jerry John Rawlings has expressed concern about the irresponsible and indisciplined behaviour of some Ghanaians in degrading the environment.
He said actions such as cutting down of trees, the wanton dumping of refuse and other non-biodegradable materials including plastics in drains and the lack of effective monitoring of the environment, are all taking a toll on citizens.
Former President Rawlings says it is the responsibility of government and the people to adopt appropriate actions and sustain them to prevent what he described as the painful occurrence of the June 3 disaster.
The Former President was speaking at a wreath laying ceremony to mark the 37th Anniversary of the June 4 uprising.
