John Mahama Donates Cash and 150 bags of cement to Nayiri

Former President John Mahama has donated GH¢50,000.00 cash and 150 bags of cement to the Paramount Chief of Mamprugu Traditional Area to support him to reconstruct part of his residence, which was recently gutted by fire.

Former President Mahama, who was represented by Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru Limuna, Former Minister of Food and Agriculture, made the presentation to the Paramount Chief of Mamprugu Traditional Area at his palace at Nalerigu over the weekend.

On Friday, March 31, this year, fire gutted the living hall of the Chief around 19:35 hours GMT and spread to one of his bedrooms before it was finally extinguished around 20:33 GMT by personnel from the Gambaga Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

The fire destroyed the traditional ruler’s personal and ceremonial items running into thousands of Ghana Cedis.

Alhaji Limuna expressed Former President Mahama’s solidarity to the Chief for the unfortunate incident and hoped the donation would help to reconstruct the residence.

Nayiri Bohagu Mahami Sheriga, Paramount Chief of Mamprugu Traditional Area expressed gratitude to the Former President for the donation and wished him well in all his endeavours.
