Ivor Greenstreet best fit for CPP – Kabila

Former CPP Youth Organiser James Kwabena Bomfeh has said the ideal candidate to lead the Convention People’s Party (CPP) for the 2016 poll is Ivor Kobina Greenstreet.

Mr Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, said the Nkrumahist community has had a divided front for a long time, a problem he said had rendered it unattractive to the electorate. He explained that a Greenstreet victory at the CPP’s delegates congress, to be held Saturday January 30, 2016, would be a trigger for the oneness that the party needs.

“The greatest need of the party is unification… The CPP’s biggest challenge, and the CPP as in the organ CPP today, and the larger Nkrumah family called CPP, what it lacks today is unity. Many have said it that ‘Unite and let us take you seriously’. So you need a unifier to be able to ignite that spirit of unity,” Kabila told Samson Lardy Anyenini on Newsfile on Joy FM Saturday.

“Only one person… best fits the face of the CPP in terms of the message that the CPP ought to take to the people to make a departure from what it has done from 1992 to date and take on something new, something that will resonate with the people, something that will care for them and work for Ghanaians again. It looks more likely that the person more fit to unify the party is in the person of Ivor Kobina Greenstreet.

Four candidates are contesting the flagbearership of the CPP for the 2016 election. They are former national chairperson, Samia Nkrumah; former general secretary, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, Bright Akwetey, a legal practitioner, and businessman Joseph Agyapong.

The event is ongoing at the Trade Fair Centre at La in Accra.
