I’ve used my first term to lay a good foundation -President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has asserted that he used his first term in office to lay the foundation for a sound economic take-off.

According to him, his second term will focus on building upon that foundation to bring about the much needed transformation in the lives of Ghanaians .

Addressing hundreds of people at Agona- Nkwanta in the Ahanta West Constituency Tuesday , the president said it was logical for Ghanaians to vote for a person who has already laid the foundation to continue with the good works.

“We’ve used the last four years to lay a very good foundation. Who lays a good foundation for someone else to continue? It does not happen that way,” the president said amidst cheers from the crowd.

Making reference to a statement by former President Kufuor, President Mahama said every president uses his or her first term to build a proper foundation while the second term focuses on expanding the economy and improving the quality of life .

Touching on education, President Mahama said 123 secondary schools have been built across the country under his tenure and that one is being put up for the people of Ahanta at Sankor.

President Mahama used the opportunity to endorse the NDC parliamentary candidate for the area George Kwame Aboagye and pleaded with the people to vote massively for him to continue the good works.
