Foreign Affairs minister Hannah Tetteh has described the newly appointed governor of the Central Bank as a “great professional”.
President John Mahama Monday appointed Dr. Nasiru Issahaku as governor of the Central Bank following the early retirement of Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah.
Issahaku, until his appointment was one of the two deputies at the bank during the tenure of Dr. Wampah.
Prior to working at the Central bank, Dr. Issahaku joined the Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF) as the head in an acting capacity. He assumed the position of the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana on July 19 ,2013.
Welcoming the appointment on twitter, the former trades minister said she worked closely with the new governor and can vouch for his professionalism.
