Israeli ambassador tours Takoradi Port

The Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Ami Mehl, as part of his familiarization tour of the Western Region visited the port of Takoradi to acquaint himself with operations at the Port.

Accompanied by his wife and his economic and public relations teams, they were taken through the port’s operations and the expansion project which is currently underway.

The Ag. Port Operations Manager of Takoradi Port, Richard Acquah expressed GPHA’s preparedness to partner Israeli companies to improve all facets of the port operations.

Ambassador Ami Mehl welcomed the idea with strong emphasis on the need for the port to upgrade security systems especially with the rise in terrorist activities in the sub-region.

He stated that, Israeli companies have vast experience in security systems and will be willing to assist the GPHA.

The Ambassador was taken on a tour of the port to witness first hand projects being undertaken with respect to the expansion project.
