I’m extremely disappointed in Otabil – Owusu Bempah

Founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Owusu Bempah has expressed disappointment in Dr. Mensah Otabil, General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, for going against his own words.

Owusu Bempah asserts that the ‘special miracle’ offering received by Dr. Otabil at the just ended ‘Greater Works’ Conference is contrary to the latter’s message that Christians who give offering to prophets are ‘fools’.

Dr. Otabil has been chastised by a section of the public after a specific monetary offering notice from his camp which promises different rewards appeared on social media.

The notice promised “Millionaire Status” for anyone who gave an offering of $5,000 or GHC21,500. For “100% Life Improvement” believers would have to make an offering of $100 or GHC425.

In response to this, Rev Owusu Bempah said the double standards shown by the renowned pastor is disappointing.

“Abraham accepted tithes and Peter also asked his followers to go sell their properties and bring the money as offering to be used for the work of God,” he said indicating that his disappointment stems from the fact that Dr. Otabil had in the past, referred to Prophets who accept cash offerings and donations from congregants in return for blessings as false prophets and tricksters.

“I am a pastor but I am not against offering. Not all Prophets are tricksters and not all prophets are fake. There are true prophets out there. Just as there are prophets who deceive people; there Pastors who also deceive”.

“I am surprised Mensah Otabil is engaging in this act. He is a pastor I respect so much but I am highly disappointed. He is the same person who said born again Christians are foolish people; they do not think. He said they continuously follow prophets who spend their money, yet do not perform the miracles they keep paying for” he noted.

“Unless Mensa Otabil tells me that he takes money collected in his church to heaven, we all use the monies collected in the church for God’s work, I am asking him to apologize to Ghanaian Christians and prophets by Monday, if not he will have me to contend with,” he stated.
