ICU elects new Executives

The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) elected new executive members in Ashanti Region on Friday, 18 August 2017.

The General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), Solomon Stephen Ashalley Kotei went unopposed together with National chairman , Victor Obeng Adu and others .

Mr Solomon Stephen Ashalley Kotei in speech during the opening of he congress charged Ghanaian workers to stay abreast with modern trends of technology in the field of work to avoid being victims of employee layoffs.

According to him, the emergence of technology is becoming a threat to job security since the use of machines is preferred by employers at the expense of human capital.

He also pledged to work towards protecting the interest of members of the union.
