Ibrahim Mahama was de facto President under John Mahama – Fadi Dabbousi

Ibrahim Mahama became the de facto president of the republic of Ghana during the era of former president John Dramani Mahama, Fadi Dabbousi, an author and journalist has suggested.

According to him, Ibrahim Mahama would not have issued dud cheques to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in 2015 if he was not the de facto president under the era of his brother.

Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers and Planners was ordered to pay about GHC12 million to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) by May 8, 2017.

The amount represents duty for goods he cleared with dud cheques in 2015 plus interest.

The interest on the amount was determined by the Ghana Revenue Authority.

But Fadi Dabbousi is calling for the prosecution of the businessman.

In his view, Ibrahim Mahama should not go unpunished stressing that, if someone could be jailed five years for stealing only GHc 2, then Mr. Mahama should not go unpunished for issuing dud cheques.
