I Will Contest Jomoro Seat Again – Samia Nkrumah

After losing the CPP’s flagbearership race to Ivor Greenstreet, she is eyeing another election – the parliamentary seat of the Jomoro constituency.

The daughter of Ghana’s first President, Samia Yaba Nkrumah who is not convinced with the outcome of the CPP’s just ended congress noted that – she will contest again the Jomoro seat on the ticket of the CPP.

Defeated Samia however said she will not seek the court for readdress over Ivor’s victory but will rather focus to recapture the Jomoro seat – “No I don’t seek injunctions. There’ll always be another day.”

“Unfortunately this is a reflection of what happens in our politics and these are some the things we have to battle against.

“I came to this country for a purpose and that is not over yet. I will contest the Jomoro seat again to serve my people,” she said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Samia had earlier alleged that her Jomoro constituency seat was snatched from her by the ruling NDC with the bloated voters’ register machinations.

She sought for re-election but was beaten by NDC’s Francis K. Anaman with a margin of 3,541 votes – she polled 18,110 votes, representing 35.31% of the total valid votes cast, while Mr. Anaman polled 21,651 votes, representing 42.22%.
